Logging into Vernon College email accounts

1. How to activate/setup your Vernon College E-mail account: 
   
   Please Note: Vernon College does not create an email account until the student has been issued a PIN number by the Admissions office. Therefore, if you do not find your name in the directory, this could be the reason. Make sure you are clear with Admissions. If you are able to login to MYVC and have access to Campus Connect, then you should have an email account. If you still do not find your name, then complete the online technical assistance form so we can find out what the problem is. Technical Help form
   
   Login to the Google Apps for students
   
   A. What is my USERNAME?
   
   Enter your Username in the E-mail address field:  In the E-mail address: box, type in your Vernon College email account name. This will contain the first letter of both your first and last name along with an assigned number. You can access this information three ways.
   First, click here for student directory and search for your name which will have your username. Then following the instructions.  For example, a username might be something like this: jm001315
   Second, you will find the username located under the MyVC login, Campus Connect, then the Demographic link.
   Third, login to MyVC, then click on Personal Information.
   
   Please Note: Vernon College has specifically assigned every student a unique email account. They cannot be changed due to name change, married name changes or any other reasons. In other words, the student does not have the option of picking their own email name.
   
   B. What is my password?

   This is the first two letters of your first and last name along with the two-digit month and day of your date of birth. For example, John Smith’s birth date is 09/01/1950; his password will be josm0901. All lowercase letters

How to Forward your email to another email account:
Step 1: Login to your student email account and you should see this windows. Now, Select "Settings" from the top menu items. Then go to Step 2 below:

You should see this window when you click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP option.

Under this option simply enter the email address you want to forward these email to. For example, if you have a yahoo.com email account then you enter something like this: john@yahoo.com, then click save changes at the bottom of this page. Now, you should start receiving your email that Vernon College sends you to your other address.

Vernon College Student emails Even though it will be hosted by Google, it will be a Vernon College email address and an account that students can keep for life, even after they have completed their academic experience at VC! All for free.	Calendar Students can organize their schedules and share events and calendars with others.
Google Talk Students can call or send instant messages to their contacts.	Docs & Spreadsheets Collaborating with peers, sharing and working together on documents, all online, is another great feature available to students!
Go Mobile With any web enabled phone students can send and receive email, schedule and retrieve events and reminders from their calendar so they can stay connected! Forwarding Emails	Find it Quick With OODLES (or is it GOODLES) of space (over 2GB) students are able to keep a lot of mail. The VC Google partnership will provide advanced search tools to quickly locate the emails you need, no matter how many you keep around!
