After selecting a topic and identifying the key concepts, students may enter the search terms in the dialog boxes provided on the Advanced Search Screen.

Please note that stating the topic as a question helps in focusing the search and in identifying the key concepts.
Example: How does the Patriot Act affect the civil liberties of U.S. citizens?

Search Technique: Quotation Marks
Placing quotation marks around the terms ("civil liberties") prompts the database to search for the phrase exactly as written without separating the words.
