Management Program

The primary objective of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Management is to prepare an individual to enter the workforce or to improve the skills of the currently employed individual. However, through articulation agreements, most of the hours earned in Vernon College's Associate of Applied Science Degree will transfer into MSU's Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science Degree or into Wayland Baptist University's Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education Degree.

The purpose of the degree program is to prepare students to gain the necessary skills to enter into or advance in the field of Management. These experiences are gained by working for an employer either full-time or part-time and by enrolling in courses required for this degree.

During this course of study, students will gain experience at the workplace and learn management theory while enrolled in management courses. This is a partnership between Vernon College and the employer which will ensure that classroom learning will prepare students to handle the challenges managers face in today's workplace.

• Introduction to Business
• Human Resources Management, Co-op, and Internship
• Principles of Management
• Organizational Behavior
• Practicum I, II, and III

The program also has related courses in Economics, Accounting, Microcomputer Applications, Composition and Grammar, Composition and Literature, Mathematics, Public Speaking, American Political System, and some approved electives.
