Vernon College SNA
Mission Statement
To promote an atmosphere conducive to optimum learning and career preparation based
on a sense of tradition, camaraderie and team work encompassing all ADN students currently
enrolled in the ADN program. This also includes all members of the ADN faculty and Vernon College
support staff as well as any student who has formally declared and ADN major.
ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE MISSION STATEMENT WILL BE
DEMONSTRATED
BY THE FOLLOWING:
- By establishing the Vernon College SNA as a recognized campus organization by acceptance of
it's bylaws and charter by Vernon College administration.
- By structuring it's elected student leadership and faculty sponsorship to provide
for representation of both generic classes, the current transition class and the
ADN faculty.
- By structuring its elected officers in such a manner that provides for assumption
of leadership by the next upcoming class.
- By holding a minimum of 7 open meetings proposed during the Fall and Spring
school year (Sept., Oct., Nov., Jan., Feb., March, April).
- By providing information concerning future educational career opportunities
within the field of nursing at each open meeting (ie: ADN to BSN programs, FNP programs,
E.T. specialization).
- By serving as a source of information concerning various resources available
to improve academic performance.
- By sponsoring a minimum of one (1) social function for the SNA membership and faculty
during the school year.
- By addressing any specific needs of the ADN student body in order to promote an optimum
learning environment.
- Minimum of 1 community service function per year.
