Hi! Welcome to my web site. I am the Director of the Associate Degree Nursing program at Vernon College. Vernon College offers 2 programs in nursing; an LVN Transition Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program for currently licensed LVNs, and a Generic ADN program for those people who have never been a licensed nurse. We have GREAT nursing programs with pass rates on the NCLEX-RN from 96%-100% each year. All ADN graduates have successfully passed the licensure exam within one year of graduation. We recently received EXEMPLARY status on a survey visit by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and also from the Texas Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners. I am a single mother with three children; Blake, age 27, Brooke, age 23, and Ben, age 21. They are the center of my universe and after years of cheering for them at one of their sporting events or at one of their school activities I am now home alone. Blake is in the work force, Ben and Brooke are both students at OU in Norman, Ok. I am a member of Calvary Baptist Church. I also am an associate member of the Junior Service League, Education Chair of American Heart Association, and past board member of the American Diabetes Association, Hillcrest Country Club, and numerous professional nursing organizations. If I had spare time, I love to play golf and read. I am getting hooked on surfing the Net.
I have learned to relish my peace and quiet. I enjoy reading, sporting events and spending as much time as I can with my kids.
