Employees' Forum Scholarship Guidelines
- Applicants who are pursuing a degree in Office Technology or Business shall be considered for this award.
- Each applicant must submit a written application (application forms are available from the Financial Aid Office) and any other required documents before being considered for a scholarship.
- The applicant must demonstrate "financial need" according to the federal rules and regulations.
- The applicant must enroll full-time (at least 12 semester hours) each semester.
- Applicants enrolled half-time (6-8 semester hours) or three-quarter time (9-11 semester hours) may be considered under special circumstances.
- Incoming freshmen applicants must have a "B" average on their high school work. Those applicants with previous college hours must have a 3.0 grade point average with no grade below a "C".
- The Vernon College Employees' Forum shall appoint a committee to consider all applications and recommend a recipient to the members of the Forum for approval.
- The scholarship award shall be $250 per semester or $500 per academic year.
- The scholarship award shall be for one academic year exclusive of the summer session.
- Recipients of the award may be considered for the scholarship for a second year by filing a new application, demonstrating a continued "need", and by maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average with no grade below a "C".
- If there are no applicants in the field of Office Technology or Business, students interested in other fields of study may be considered for the Vernon College Employees' Forum Scholarship award.
