Accelerated Alternative Delivery (AAD) Program

Vernon College's Accelerated Alternative Delivery Option in Surgical Technology is a distance learning program
for Surgical Technologists that have had previous on the job training or attended a non-CAAHEP accredited program.
On the job training must have occurred before March 2000 in order to qualify for the AAD program. Upon verification
of clinical skills, Vernon College will provide clinical credit for documented work experience.
The Surgical Technology AAD Program requires 50% of courses for the Certification of Completion are Vernon College earned credit. The five required requirements must be taken at Vernon College and the related requirements can be transfer credit if course is accepted by Vernon College Admissions Department. The required courses are offered in the fall semester and spring semester and students can complete the AAD program in one (1) or two (2) semesters.
AAD Program Admission Process: Effective April 2008
Foreign Medical Graduates or
applicants with training in any country other than the United States will have
to submit a translated transcript in order to be considered for admission.
Surgical experience as a
Surgical Technologist in the First Scrub Role must be documented and verified or
the applicant will not be considered for admission into the AAD Program. If you have questions, please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list.
