Because the VC home page is used to post announcements, all VC computers should display the Vernon College Home Page when Netscape is started. Your computer is probably set to display http://www.vrjc.cc.tx.us . That is exactly the same page as http://www.vernoncollege.edu. The pages will always be identical. However, in order to see the new name in the location box of your browser window, you must make a minor change. There are 3 easy steps and you should all complete them without any assistance from Information Technology. If you have problems, call Information Tehnology at ext. 2300.
Before you begin, you should either print these instructions or open a second browser window. Use one window to view the instructions and the second window to make your configuration changes.
Step 1
First, we must go to the area of Netscape that allows you to change your personnel preferences and account settings. With Netscape open do the following:
- Click on Edit.
- Click on Preferences.

Step 2
Now you need to get into your browser settings.
- Click on Navigator.
- In the location box in the Home Page section of the screen, type in www.vernoncollege.edu
- Click OK

Step 3
That's all there is to it!Now you need a test. Click on the Home button and look at the page that is displayed. It should be the Vernon College Home Page. Next, look in the location box. You should see www.vernoncollege.edu .
