Overview
Vernon College provides reasonable accommodations to qualified students in accordance with
the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) act of 1990.
Accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis. Students with special needs are encouraged
to contact the Director of Special Services as early as possible. Early
notice is required to prepare for and provide special accommodations by the first week of
class. All requests for special accommodations due to a disability must be accompanied by
appropriate and acceptable documentation. It is the responsibility
of the student to provide documentation that qualifies the student as an individual with a
disability, as defined by law, and supports the requested accommodation.
If you need special services or instructional accommodations, be sure to see the Documentation Guidelines
and the request procedure.
