Thank you for your interest in Vernon College. This page will guide you through the various steps you need to complete to be admitted to the College, including completion of an online application form. Please remember that the online application is only one step in the process and that you must complete all steps before your application will be processed.
- Complete the online application for admission. Pay particular attention to the list of majors (educational goals) and the location at which each is offered. At the end of the application you will be asked to certify that you have received information about bacterial meningitis. - See the Residency Core Questions Instructions for details on printing the Residency Core Questions Form on paper. After you have printed copy of the Residency Core Questions Form, complete it, sign it and mail it to the Office of Admissions and Records. The answers to these questions will be reviewed to determine your proper residency classification. Detailed information about the Basis for Texas Residency Status is available. If there is a question as to your residency classification, it is your obligation, prior to enrollment, to ask the Office of Admissions and Records for an official determination.
- Pay the $10.00 application for admission fee. Click here for payment options. Note that the application fee payment may be mailed with the Residency Core Questions Form.
- High school students who plan to enroll for Concurrent or Dual Credit Enrollment must complete and return this form to the Office of Admissions and Records.
- Have your high school send an official transcript showing your date of graduation to the Office of Admissions and Records. Students seeking admission on the basis of their GED examination will need to provide a copy of their test scores. High school students participating in Concurrent or Dual Credit enrollment must furnish a high school transcript after graduation.
- Beginning with the Fall semester of 1989 and thereafter, all students enrolling will be subject to the requirements of the Texas Academic Skills Program (TASP) as enacted into law (HB 2181) by the Texas Legislature in 1987. For further details on TASP contact the counseling office.
- Obtain a trial schedule from a Vernon College counselor or advisor before registration. You should make an appointment early and not wait until registration.

Follow the directions for admission to Vernon College based on your status as an entering freshman or a transfer student to obtain admission to the College. After meeting the admission requirements of the College, you must meet the additional admission requirements of the program you have selected. When we send your VC admission permit to you, we will also send information to the director of the program you have selected for their review and action. The program director will notify you directly of your acceptance or denial. Admission to the College does not guarantee admission to the program you have selected.
Those areas not specifically addressed, such as admission of foreign students, will be administered as specified in the Vernon College General Catalog.
