The Vernon College Counseling Office offers brief career counseling focusing on 3 major areas:
• Career Assessment – CareerCoach has a free 60-question career assessment based on your likes and dislikes. This assessment will measure your strengths and give career field recommendations based upon your strengths.
• Academic Coaching – often students change paths as their life and external factors require. The Student Success Specialist and Counselors are available to help students identify all the resources and programs available to them and prioritize their needs. Higher Education can be a long term process that requires adjustments during the journey.
• Online Job Board – after completion of a certificate or a degree the next big step is securing the first job in a chosen field. The online job board on the VC website has job postings for students and alumni. Additionally, CareerCoach has local job postings and a free resume builder.
Please call the numbers below to make an appointment for any of these services. Be aware that we are unable to see students for career counseling during registration or heavy academic advising periods.
