CLEP
Vernon College offers computerized CLEP examinations by appointment ONLY.
To be admitted to take the CLEP examination, you must present a current PHOTO ID (driver's license, passport, military ID or college-issued student ID card with photo.)
All CLEP exam registrations and payments must be made by test-takers online at www.collegeboard.org. Select the CLEP section and select 'Register for a CLEP Exam.' You will create an account and then you will be able to sign up for an exam. You will be issued a registration ticket that you must bring with you to the Testing Center. You are required to contact the Testing Center to make an appointment to take the exam. To schedule an appointment to take a CLEP examination, please call 940-552-6291 ext. 2317 (Vernon) or 940-689-3778 (Wichita Falls).
The fee for CLEP is $87.00 payable online to CLEP. The Testing Center fee is $15.00 payable by money order, credit card, or cash that is due on the day of testing.
Educational Testing Service offers 33 CLEP exams that can be taken for college credit. Any CLEP exam may be taken at Vernon College, but listed below are all current CLEP examinations that are ACCEPTED for credit at Vernon College. Examinees should contact all colleges and universities they plan to attend to ensure that the CLEP Exam is accepted by those institutions.
A credit-granting score is 50 for all exams except for Level 2 Spanish 2311 & 2312; the credit-granting score is 63.
